CSD assists self-help groups/ organizations and other CBOs in institution building for helping them to function as sustainable service providers and in enhancing receiving mechanism as well as delivery capacity of these organizations.
Activities:
CSD facilitates both induced and indigenous community based organizations (CBOs) in a sectoral basis such as community based savings and credit organizations, community based savings and credit cooperatives, producers groups (farmers groups), forest users' groups along with other users' groups, such as drinking water users' group, irrigation maintenance and operation groups, etc. . Besides this, the village level community based sectoral organizations have been facilitated to form their area/ district level organizations, so as to coordinate and enhance linkages for input supply, technical assistance and marketing.
Achievement to date:
CSD has facilitated to form / provide:
- 103 Savings and credit organizations (SCOs)
- 48 Savings and credit cooperative (SCCs)
- 50 Forest users' groups (FUGs)
- 2,355 Producers groups (PGs)
- One District Level Cooperation Union
- One District level farmers cooperative
- 7,978 Groups in microfinance program (one group consists of five target women)
- 1,275 Centres in microfinance program (one centre consists of in an average of 5 groups or 25 target women)
- 51,000 Members with various microfinancial services
- 41,000 Borrowers with a ccumulative loan amount of Rs 180 million
