Board members

Mr. Shankar Man Shrestha, Chairperson
Mr. Shrestha is a microfinance expert with more than five decades experience in the rural finance industry. He is the chairperson, and the founder Executive Director of CSD. He worked as the Chief Executive Officer in the Rural Microfinance Development Center from August 1999 to April 2014. He had also worked in the Agricultural Development Bank in various capacities such as Deputy General Manager, Director of Agricultural Credit Training Institute, Chief of Credit Department, Regional Manager, etc. He has an M.A degree in Economics from T.U. He has long experience in facilitating microfinance training, workshops and seminars. He has written several articles, reports and papers on rural and microfinance which were published in journals and magazines within the country and abroad. He holds a long experience in delivering microfinance and training services to MFIs and the clientele.
Mr. Mahendra Kumar Giri, Vice Chairperson, Representing Sahara Nepal SACCOS Ltd.
Mr. Giri is the Executive Chief of the leading Cooperative in Nepal, Sahara Nepal SACCOS Ltd. He has been at the helm of the Cooperative movement since the beginning of his career and has been a part of Sahara since its establishment. He has been involved in the microfinance sector for over twenty years. He takes an active interest in undertaking new initiatives and products and services to improve the welfare of Sahara members and the community. He is the President of NGP Coordination Committee; a member of the Non-Government Organization Federation, Jhapa; LOM Editor, Birat Jaycees and member of the Nepal Redcross Society, Jhapa. He regularly participates in various conferences, seminars and workshops related to the cooperatives, agriculture and microfiance sector both at home and abroad. Mr. Giri holds a Bachelors's Degree in Commerce from Mechi Multiple College.
 
Mrs. Shova Bajracharya, Treasurer, Representing Manushi Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Ltd.
Mrs. Bajracharya is the Chief Executive Officer of Manushi Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Ltd. She holds Masters's Degree in Economics from Tribhuvan University. She has experience in teaching economics as an Assistant Lecturer in Hiralal Multiple Campus. She has worked in development organizations like SEARCH and IIDS. She has a long working experience in delivering microfinance and community development programs.
Dr. Sumitra Manandhar Gurung, Member
Dr. Gurung is the CEO of Mahila Sahayatra Microfinance Bittiya Sanstha Ltd. She started her career as professional staff in International Centre for Integrated Mountain Development (ICIMOD). She received Ph.D. in Geography from the University of Hawaii at Manoa, USA. She worked as the former Chief Executive of Women Cooperative Society (WCS) and as a Project Director in Plan International. She has a long working experience in rural and urban development programs.
 
Mr. Dambar Bahadur Shah, Member, Representing Kisan Bahuudeshiya Sahakari Sanstha Ltd.
Mr. Shah is the General Manager of Kisan Bahuudeshiya Sahakari Sanstha Ltd., Kailali. He is one of the founding members of kisan and has been involved with the Cooperative since its establishment in 1993. He career spans over two decades wherein he has taken an active interest in expanding the products and services that the organization has to offer to its members. Currently, he also serves as a member of the Microfiance Sub-Committee of Rastriya Sahakari Bank Ltd. He has participated in numerous regional, national and international seminars and training programs in the capacity of both participant and organizer. Mr. Shah holds an MBA Degree in Banking and Finance from Indira Gandhi National Open Univerity, India, and a B.Com Degree in Accounts and Management from St. Xavier College, Mumbai, India.
 

Mr. Chandi Prasad Sharma Poudel, MemberRepresenting Chartare Youth Club (CYC)
Mr. Chandi Prasad Sharma Paudel, a resident of Baglung Municipality 9, is currently the Executive President of the Chartare Youth Club (CYC) Baglung and President of the Baglung Savings and Credit Cooperative Association. In the past, he has worked for more than two decades in the non-governmental sector as well as in the financial sector and contributed for the overall growth development of those sectors. Mr. Chandi Prasad Sharma Poudel, who is also a member of the Executive Committee of Nepal Savings and Credit Central Cooperative Association, has served as the president of federation non-governmental organization Baglung District chapter and vice president of the Muktinath Hospital and Research Center in the past. In addition, he has worked in the district with United Nations Development Program, Amnesty International, District Coordination Committee and other several development projects and programs. He has visited countries such as India, Bangladesh, Indonesia, Sir Lanka, Maldives, the Philippines, Thailand, Malaysia, Egypt, United Arab Emirates (UAE), and South Korea. Mr. Chandi Prasad Sharma Paudel, a law graduate from Tribhuvan University of Nepal has participated in numerous national and international trainings, workshops, conferences and other programs.

Ms. Gita Kumari Yogi Giri, Member, Representing Nepal Women Community Service Center
Ms. Gita Kumari Yogi Giri is a Vice Secretary of Nepal Women Community Service Center (NWCSC), Ghorahi, Dang, since 2015.  She is also a one of the Board Members of the Jalpa Samudaik Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Ltd. Previously, she had served as a chairperson of the Mahila Samudayik Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Ltd. Dang for two years ie from 2075 to 2077. Ms. Giri has an expertise on Banking and financial sector. She had participated in several national and international trainings, workshops, seminars and also visited countries such as: America, France, UK, Italy, Switzerland, Czech Republic, India, Philippines, Bangladesh, Thailand. She had acquired Bachelor's Degree in Commerce and Master's Degree in Rural Development Studied from Tribhuvan University Nepal.
